Brimming with richly detailed hand-drawn illustrations of carved oak staircases, wall panelling, tiled fireplaces, and stained-glass windows, the Liberty sketchbooks unveil the aesthetic legacies treasured in the Regent Street flagship.
The interior fabric and wallpaper collection draws on pivotal moments that have defined Liberty as the leading tastemaker and artistic innovator of interior design. Framed by the rich textures and relaxed glamour of bohemian botanicals lies the genesis of Liberty. Discovered in the renowned 60,000-strong design archive, high Victorian maximalist-style paisleys, embellished embroideries, and ‘70s style florals are complemented by characterful geometrics and formal stripes. Inspired by the sophistication of artists, poets, and playwrights from the sensuous Aesthetic movement, The House of Liberty embodies the decades’ cultural shifts in a captivating array of harmonious juxtapositions.
Taking inspiration from a 1973 hand-painted Liberty artwork, this small geometric check embraces the underlying symmetry found all around us in nature. Tiny rotating rose florets are reminiscent of the minute details of flower centres, anchored by a closely arranged pattern of diagonal stripes and squares. Woven with a 100% wool, Remy Rose is appropriate for upholstery, drapery, cushions, and accessories.
