Brimming with richly detailed hand-drawn illustrations of carved oak staircases, wall panelling, tiled fireplaces, and stained-glass windows, the Liberty sketchbooks unveil the aesthetic legacies treasured in the Regent Street flagship.
The interior fabric and wallpaper collection draws on pivotal moments that have defined Liberty as the leading tastemaker and artistic innovator of interior design. Framed by the rich textures and relaxed glamour of bohemian botanicals lies the genesis of Liberty. Discovered in the renowned 60,000-strong design archive, high Victorian maximalist-style paisleys, embellished embroideries, and ‘70s style florals are complemented by characterful geometrics and formal stripes. Inspired by the sophistication of artists, poets, and playwrights from the sensuous Aesthetic movement, The House of Liberty embodies the decades’ cultural shifts in a captivating array of harmonious juxtapositions.
Discovered as a loose fabric fragment is an 1880s Liberty pattern book, Palm Parade offers a glimpse into the early days of Liberty prints. Where the archival artwork was originally crafted using woodblock printing, this contemporary linen interpretation is inspired by the practice’s attention to detail. Showcasing neatly arranged rows of stylised carnations evocative of Middle Eastern artistry, Palm Parade is a timeless piece of the design house’s storied legacy.
