In celebration, the design house turns to its illustrious past, documented in the drawings and manuscripts by the pioneering designers and forward-thinking artists of the time. Brimming with richly detailed hand-drawn illustrations of carved oak staircases, wall panelling, tiled fireplaces, and stained-glass windows, the Liberty sketchbooks unveil the aesthetic legacies treasured in the Regent Street flagship.
The interior fabric and wallpaper collection draws on pivotal moments that have defined Liberty as the leading tastemaker and artistic innovator of interior design. Framed by the rich textures and relaxed glamour of bohemian botanicals lies the genesis of Liberty. Discovered in the renowned 60,000-strong design archive, high Victorian maximalist-style paisleys, embellished embroideries, and ‘70s style florals are complemented by characterful geometrics and formal stripes. Inspired by the sophistication of artists, poets, and playwrights from the sensuous Aesthetic movement, The House of Liberty embodies the decades’ cultural shifts in a captivating array of harmonious juxtapositions.
Originally created during the height of Liberty’s iconic Art Nouveau period in the early 1900s, Hana Weave is an enticing botanical of sweeping poppies and carnations. Formerly exhibited within contemporary wallpaper and furnishing fabric collections, this Liberty classic has been reinvented once more. Decorated with sinuous stems in a lush arrangement of waves and scattered blossoms, Hana Weave is a beautifully elaborate woven jacquard. Thoughtfully woven in Italy using a viscose-cotton blend, this jacquard is suitable for general domestic upholstery, drapery, and cushions.
