The interior fabric and wallpaper collection draws on pivotal moments that have defined Liberty as the leading tastemaker and artistic innovator of interior design. Framed by the rich textures and relaxed glamour of bohemian botanicals lies the genesis of Liberty. Discovered in the renowned 60,000-strong design archive, high Victorian maximalist-style paisleys, embellished embroideries, and ‘70s style florals are complemented by characterful geometrics and formal stripes. Inspired by the sophistication of artists, poets, and playwrights from the sensuous Aesthetic movement, The House of Liberty embodies the decades’ cultural shifts in a captivating array of harmonious juxtapositions.
In a sophisticated exploration of geometric precision and tactile elegance, Cravat is a woven interpretation of a collection of printed silks discovered in the Liberty archive. The preserved intricate, tiny square patterns depicted in the original silk are reimagined in a larger scale, enhanced with the wool’s depth of richness.
