Description
The Botanical Atlas fabric collection reimagines the natural world for interiors. Combining the renowned Liberty colour palette with rich layered embroideries, opulent textured weaves, and contemporary printed velvets and linens, Botanical Atlas invites us on a journey across the globe. With reference to Sir Arthur Liberty’s expeditions during the 1880s-1910s, this collection explores a captivating array of flora and fauna. From trailing Chinoiserie motifs, to miniature Persian Garden illustrations, the Liberty Botanical Atlas fabric collection seamlessly intertwines the charm of traditional techniques with modern accents.
Created in parallel to the Botanical Atlas wallpaper collection, this series also incorporates innovative, unseen artworks, and beloved archive pieces reworked into new striking scales. Influenced by Liberty’s five colour stories: Lacquer, Jade, Lapis, Pewter, and Lichen, Botanical Atlas is a fascinating collection of visually exquisite botanic narratives.
Meticulously hand-painted in the Liberty Design Studio, in the heart of London, and expertly crafted using traditional and cutting-edge techniques in Italy, Belgium, and India.
Designed in the 1900s by one of Liberty’s most influential Arts and Crafts designers, Lindsay Butterfield, this original artwork is seen for the first time in interiors. With the addition of a dramatic shadow to this playful poppy print, Butterfield is a quintessentially Liberty design. Printed on 100% linen and suitable for upholstery, drapery, cushions, and accessories.
